I am still missing a TiVo but with all the series available streaming from the channels and the on demand digital choices, I can keep up a modicum of TV
attendance this year. From the Fall line-up I have already picked out some series: Reaper, Cavemen, Bionic Woman (not 100% pleased) and I am also watching the
CSI and CSINY. I also want to see Supernatural when it comes on and Heroes. I enjoyed, and still do, Californication on Showtime and I can't wait for
Dexter. I also want to find out what's happening with Bloodties, the Lifetime Vamp series.
And Battlestar is starting in January for its final season. What have you guys been watching?

We only have classic cable which overs a lot of channels but none of the premium ones like HBO or Showtime etc. I don't mind that because all of the shows I want to see are on the classic line-up.
Every Wednesday evening I am glued to the Sci-Fi channel to watch Ghost Hunters. I'm also a big fan of a plethora of different shows like: Little People Big World, Top Chef, Deadliest Catch, Supernatural, A Haunting, Survivor, and most of Friday evening on The Travel Channel! I also like to catch reruns of Designing Women, Outer Limits, and The Twilight Zone. A strange combination of shows I like, but I really enjoy them. |

Heroes (of course!!), Bionic Woman (reserving judgement so far), America's Next Top Model, Journeyman, Life, SVU, The Office, 30 Rock, Back to You, Big Bang Theory. Waiting for new Nip/Tuck to start at the end of the month, and Scrubs and Medium whenever they start. And of course for Lost to start in Feb. I think that's it. I record a lot and watch on weekends when I do housework.

If I put in the streaming vids from Greek shows..
I am waiting for the Nip/Tuck myself, I will prolly miss the start, like I missed supernatural, but I want to see the proliferative and sexy plastic docs. Btw, what about movies, will you be renting or watching in the theaters something you are anticipating much? Just to start us off, I am aiming (let's see how off I will be...lol) for Elizabeth the golder years and Beowulf. How about you? PS....MOCHA!!!!! Damn girl! You are alive online too!! YAY!! |

~muffled laughter~
Lately I've been doing more TV watching, which is actually kind of weird because I usually look through the channel guide and determine that there's nothing good on. Bad, Rose, bad! I've tuned in to American Idol but I can only stand about 10 minutes of awful sound so then I surf. I end up watching a lot of Food Network, but so much has been reruns so I keep surfing. I've watched a bit of the Planet Earth stuff. I have been watching Project Runway on Bravo. Am waiting for the new Survivor to start. I can't seem to get back into Lost. I've got a bunch of new DVDs queued up for viewing, but my attention span is no better this year so haven't really seen much except "Pirates 3" and "Harry Potter Phoenix". Enjoyed both. |

The new Survivor started and, of course, I'm hooked.
I invested in the new Sims 2 series of simulated reality computer games. I absolutely love them! I have Deluxe, Nightlife and 2 Seasons loaded so far. I am working on a KAGville mansion! I will have to post pictures of everyone and do little vignettes... I really love building the houses, the whole architectural thing, from foundation to roof. Doing the yards, building swimming pools and greenhouses... there's even a pond! Over the next several days I will finish the yard--I'm planning a sculpture garden among the rose bushes--and then it will take several days to furnish three floors! I am spending a LOT of time at the computer! |

You should try the "60'' or less" bunny movies! They are incredibly detailed and fast! *Teasing you* Since I am a proud owner of a TiVo (part of my Christmas gift) I am finally at peace with the TV and its series. And that strike gave me an opportunity to catch up with several. So, I am still watching Nip/Tuck (it had its season finale yesterday), the L-word (love this series, no matter the lezz themes it's all about women), saw Dexter on Demand (another favorite, a cute redhead built like a boxer with a fondness for slaughterwhat not to like?), the Sarah Connor Chronicles-Terminator (the one where Sarah Connor still has the throaty voice and kicks ass together with a She-botoh yes there is a teenager there too, LOL), Supernatural (because there is no other series right now living and breathing that has this type of humor and edginessI use the same type of humor that Dean does, always thinking everything with double, and of course, dirty meaning so I get my kicks), Stargate Atlantis (which has become lot better albeit they use Amanda Tapping very little, darn them), Transformers Animated (took me a bit to like this one, but the last two epis have been better, can't get used to Optimus being so metrosexual). Oh, and CSI, how can I forget that. *gasps like Spongebob*...right and Spongebob. *hits head with giant plastic club* On the side, I have been keeping up with Greek series and I re-watched Ghost in the Shell (don't know if anyone figured the banner yet), Skyland and Xena (ululates). Movies-wise, I saw very little since December since well, I had been going through some motions that kept me inside. I do want to see the Other Boleyn girl, 10,000BC and the Jumper from what's now on the big screen. Btw, Tivo thinks we are kids. More on what's coming up this year in few (will try to make it minutes or hours and not years). |

Wif french accent..."5 days later"
resumes regular caster's voice...."and we are back with news from the scifi front of upcoming releases" Okay, I am going to cover the basics, that is scifi and fantasy, lol, but later on and if you also want to assist we can cover more genres. I am not going to talk about everything (especially what color is my underwear-true I do wear today and yes that is because I am at work!), just some of the big names and those whose names we used to know *cough cough*. Most enthused about: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army What to say about this one? I am jumping up and down and sideways and all over the place. The trailer is HAWT and not just sexy HAWT. Blase: Yes, I am referring to Liz 'firestarter HB's girlfriend' Sherman. Del Toro is rising fast to become a master of direction and imagery. You have to see this one. July 11. and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Indy is back! Harrison Ford is next to that old Scottish guy in getting better and better with age. Shia Le Beouf, fast on the heels of Transformers is co-starring, and did I see Cate Blanchett among the cast? Very early Spielberg action scenes to look forward. The official site reminds me of Tomb Raider, I know how surprising! May 22. Will go see just because I've seen all the ones before: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Still very little available online. Release date for the 21st of November, right in the Thankmas Holiday Season. It's creepy; Harry looks more and more like a friend of mine. and The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian On May 16th, the four siblings return to Narnia. The same crisp and vivid colors, the large battles and our favorite lion. Is it wrong that I seriously like the older brother? *Blush* Feeling a tickle: Babylon A.D. Can't believe there is no official site yet! It's Vin Diesel's upcoming (for ages) movie. Here is some info from a Michelle Yeoh site. Poor woman, I hope she doesn't loose her following with this thing. (No, really the guy still is hot.) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine Probably in 2009 after all but can't wait. Hugh Jackman is reprising his role as the bad ass, existentially angsty Wolverine, claws and all that. I got that weird feeling that I am going to like: Doomsday In this one the scientists did it again. A loose virus, a loose infection wave, and what have you it's 28 days later in Britain and people are ghettoed and left to die. But the healthy ones will need the assistance of the survivors when the virus appears once more to threaten the priviliged. Rhona Mitra, one of the ladies that has represented Lara Croft years back, is a bad-ass go-getter that will or will not fetch the cure. In the meantime she looks great in tight black pants and there is lot of action. Think Mad Max meets Resident Evil. and Avatar Again one for 2009 (most probably). It's the new baby of James Cameron and it will find Sigourney Weaver fighting over real estate at a new planet. It will employ new digital technology and supposedly no optical camera systems. Infrared maybe? No linkie yet. Having said the above, and feeling happy that I've at least laid down a few titles, there are more high profile or famous scifi coming up movies that I don't feel compelled to go see, like The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. *Head scratch* Not sure what Leo di Caprio is attempting with remaking Akira. I mean....live action movie? As Crash says online: IONO...don't think it will go fab. I can just hear the fanboys screaming. All right, only few days later and I am done. Good thing nobody came by to notice, LOL. |

I can tell why you like Rescue Me. *wink*
I tivo'd the Season Finale of Sarah Connor's Chronicles yesterday and I really liked it. Talk about a cliffhanger. Although, not really 'the end' because as we know, those machines don't melt in mere fire. But that could mean they are going to change the actress. Whatever happens is all good, not for the actress of course...lol. The Riches are coming up on March 18, and today is series premiere for New Amsterdam. |

I read, with interest, all the movies Dia mentioned because many of them I also want to see. I'll always go to the movie theatre to see the next Indiana Jones or Harry Potter. It's "de rigeur" for me. The Chronicles of Narnia... I might wait for DVD. The 10,000 BC one, too (the teaser scenes with the saber-toothed tiger... well, I was thinking KAG time-travel fanfic...)
For television, I'm afraid my viewing habits reveal how shallow I am. Of course you know I'm a Survivor fan. I also have been watching (sporadically) American Idol. I love Project Runway, Top Chef, Dancing with the Stars. I'm mesmerized by what I consider "bad" TV, such as The Bachelor (I said I was shallow!). |

Christian won Project Runway!
I liked Jillian's design line the best. I thought Christian's had a lot of drama (as did Posh Spice a/k/a Victoria Beckham), but I thought it looked too much like a cross between Pilgrims and the Old Dutch Masters... |

As you already know, I'm hooked on Dancing with the Stars. Saw it for the first time two seasons ago and was immediately drawn in. Mom watches, too, so we "discuss" after the program airs.
The ladies danced last night. Kristi Yamaguchi did really well; we think her past experience as a figure skater gives her extra grace, style and rhythm, but she did admit to having many bad habits to correct (skaters are "flat footed" on the ice). Monica Seles, the tennis player, didn't do so well. I had no idea she was so tall, and could only remember when she came into the spotlight in the tennis world, her grunting whenever she hit the ball really was a psychological deterrant to her opponents. She wanted to well so badly, but she was rather stiff. You could tell she was trying so hard. She looked delightful in her pink fox-trot dress, though. Kudos to Priscilla Presley, the oldest female contestant they've ever had, or, as they put it, the most "mature". She is typically press-shy but admits to taking risks in her life and says this is the toughest thing she's ever done. She did so well! Big kudos to Marlee Matlin, who I think is just stunning. She won an Oscar years ago for her portrayal in the movie "Children of a Lesser God". She is profoundly deaf and is Dancing with the Stars! She did fantastic in the cha-cha and got a well-deserved standing ovation. She watches her partner, can sometimes feel the drumbeat through the floor, and also follows her own heartbeat. Very cool! Also watched The Bachelor, simply because it follows after. They have a Brit this year; he's cute! Some of the ladi-... uh some of the "participants" they find for this program are unbelievable bimbos. |

Steve Guttenberg got voted off "Dancing with the Stars". Too bad; it was the right vote, but he is SUCH a nice guy you hated to see him go.
The bimbos on "The Bachelor" are fun to watch. Unbelievable how many have tears when they don't get a rose. I don't believe it's because they're in love with the total stranger they've known for only a matter of days, I think it's more related to not being chosen. A real emotional mindbender that goes back to our childhood years. Primal fears from long ago. What do you think? Have caught a few episodes of "Rock of Love" with Bret Michael of Poison. Was channel surfing and ran into that program by accident. What a train wreck that show is. But, like any good rubbernecker, I stayed to watch. LOL It makes me wonder how they find contestants for these programs. I suppose there are a surplus of people who long for that 15 minutes of fame. Only thing I can think of. Rather like contestants for "American Idol" who really think they can sing. Speaking of bimbos, "Girls Next Door" are all re-runs, boo-hoo. They must only film 6-7 episodes. So I content myself with the new "Top Chef" season on Bravo, Wednesday nights. Love that program. Can't believe that a chef didn't know what piccata was, though. What are you watching? |
